As a lady your presentation at an job interview will be different from the gents. Here are a few tips we have devised for getting ready a little easier.
Tip 1 - Killer Perfume
When getting ready for a job interview don’t go insane with a scent. Alot of people are sensitive to fragrances. You don’t want to give your potential new employer a headache with your fragrance. On the same note don’t forget antiperspirant deodorant - all those nerves and adrenaline is going to make you sweat and bad B.O is bad for business.
Tip 2 - Scary Makeup
Keep it natural! The last thing you want to look like is a scary clown/hooker. Thick foundation, scary eyeshadow and bright red lipstick should be left where they belong - in the 1980s.
Tip 3 - Bad Breath
There is nothing worse than someone with bad breath or something distracting stuck between their teeth. Make sure you give your teeth a brush before you leave home.
Tip 4 - Bed Hair
If you have a piece of hair - whether a fringe or loose strand - it may distract you from the interview. Make sure you secure your hair, otherwise the distraction may hinder you from making a connection with the interviewer.
Tip 5: Trashy Dress
First impressions count. Dress is the first thing an interviewer will see, therefore always keep it business attire. Leave the short skirts, low cut tops and stilettos at home. Plan your outfit the night before and ask your family & friends for their opinion. Ensure your chosen outfit is clean and pressed.
Tip 6: “Look at me” Jewellery
Keep jewellery to a minimum. A few key pieces are fine, e.g. wedding band, necklace and earrings will suffice.
Tip 7: Dirty Shoes
Ensure your shoes are clean, unmarked and don’t clash with your choice of clothes.
Tip 8: Fluro Nail Varnish
No chips, and keep the colour neutral. Make sure your hands and nails are clean.
If you follow the tips above you should nail the presentation side of the job interview and have one less thing to worry about.
Good LuckĀ with the job search.
