Prior to this, in my native country, I was employed for eight (8) years as a secretary to the mayor in the capital. Please see my resume for complete details.

Paragraph 2: - Write a brief paragraph explaining why you are the person for the job and leave it open for them to contact you.

E.g. My long experience with government has taught me the importance of public service. Seeing that we share many of the same hopes and goals for this nation, it would be an honor to put my skills at your disposal. Please feel free to call me so that we may discuss this further.
